While Peppers are in season this a great anytime recipe. Great for entertaining, or a no fuss dinner on a hot night. This recipe is very adaptable to what you have on hand, and easily catered to your tastebuds.
You’ll Need:
-Tortured Orchards Garlic Balsamic Drizzle, Spiced Pineapple Zinger or Golden Sauce (your choice)
– Peppers for stuffing, certainly can use Jalepeno, but we used Sweet peppers.
– 1 8oz. packet of Cream Cheese (room temp.)
-mixing bowl
-wooden spoon
-pairing knife
-cooking spray
-cookie sheet/grill pan
* This is very simple. Once your brick of cream cheese is soft, pour your desired Tortured Orchard flavor into the Cream Cheese. Start by adding a Tablespoon at a time to taste, and mixing it together with the Cream Cheese.
*Using a pairing knife carefully cut a slit in each pepper enough for you to open it up, and take out the seeds.
*Then, once all the insides are out, take some of your cream cheese mixture and stuff the peppers.
*Now this next step is a choice for you whether you would rather bake them, or finish them in the grill pan.
* If you choose the Grill pan, spray your pan with oil and turn your stove on medium heat, and evenly place the stuffed peppers in the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side before turning the Peppers.
*When they are all charred and the flesh of the Peppers have softened your Tortured Orchard Popper should be ready to be devoured.
Note: If you are using the oven, turn your oven on to 350 degrees while you’re stuffing the Peppers. Once stuffed place on a baking sheet and cook until the Peppers flesh is soft.
Feel free to use the remaining Tortured Orchard Sauces for dipping!
*Variations*
Try adding fresh herbs or mincing up some shallots, or tomato.
